WHERE’S HICO, TEXAS?
From DFW:
Hico is about two hours southwest of Dallas, Texas, and 90 minutes southwest of Fort Worth, by car.
From Austin:
Hico is about two hours north of Austin, depending on traffic.
WHAT’S THE GREEN CANOE?
The Green Canoe in Hico is a store, taproom and beer garden. Our store features apparel and accessories from brands like Orvis, Howler Bros., Turtlebox, Texas Standard, Duck Camp and more. Our taproom is stocked with Texas craft beers along with plenty of great domestics. And our beer garden is the best patio in Hico and a great spot to host events.
IS THERE FOOD AT THE GREEN CANOE?
We don’t serve food at the Green Canoe, but you’re welcome to bring in food from any of the great restaurants, food trucks and cafes around Hico. If you stop by, we’ll point you in the right direction.
DOES THE GREEN CANOE HOST EVENTS?
Yes, we host events — both private and public. From wedding receptions to birthday parties to corporate outings, the Green Canoe has hosted all sorts of fun events on our covered outdoor patio and beer garden. If you’re interested in having an event at the Green Canoe, please get in touch.

Monday-Thursday, 10AM-7PM
Friday & Saturday, 10AM-9PM
Sunday, Noon-7PM
WHAT’S HICO KNOWN FOR?
Located right at the top of the scenic Texas Hill Country, Hico is known for its historic downtown and its association with Billy the Kid. It also has a terrific live music scene, spearheaded by Hico Hall, a former cotton oil mill that’s been meticulously renovated and serves as an event and music venue.
